À About College À Principal À Academic Advisory Board	Principal Profile: Dr.B.Srinivasa Varma, graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science,Warangal. He did his M.Tech.in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana. Soon after his M.Tech,, he joined as Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at his Parent institute KITS,Warangal and established Foundry Engineering and Metrology Laboratories. He believed that every Engineer passing out from the institute has to initiate on his own and to be useful for the industry from day one. He transformed teaching of Production Engineering and regarded as one who contributed to the society with a good number of Mechanical Engineers. He was the recipient of first Government of India Research Fellowship at National Institute of Technology, Warangal in Mechanical Engineering where he worked on ‘Development of Alumina based ceramic cutting tools for machining hardened steels’ which was funded by ARDB and Awarded Ph.D. in 1999. Dr.Srinivasa Varma was instrumental in setting up of India’s first ever Wood free particle board plant for Ecoboard Industries Limited in Sangli and Solapur districts of Maharashtra where he joined as Manager(Materials) and gradually became Deputy General Manager(Production) and headed Particle board plant at Islampur,Sangli District. He developed high capacity static chargers for lamination, modified several equipment like hydraulic presses, revamped sanding operations, Fire detection and diversion systems, developed seals for various pumps and hydraulic systems etc. and regarded as a key Technical person in Product Design and Development in general and the Particle board industries in particular. Dr.Varma has established India’s first integrated Particle board plant for M/s Bajaj Hindusthan Limited at Kinauni, Meerut district, UP in the capacity of General Manager (Operations) in record time from procuring land to commissioning of the most sophisticated plant in India. In academics, he worked with Gokaraju and VNR VJIET,Hyderabad as Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering and started M.Tech. program in ‘Design for Manufacturing’ and played a major role in revamping ‘AMT’ syllabus. He also developed state of the art CAD/CAM laboratories in these institutions which are highly regarded in Andhra Pradesh. He served as founder Principal of Vignan’s Institute of Management and Technology for Women,Ghatkesar and during his tenure the institute was placed in the first 5to 7 positions in the university ever since it’s inception. He developed several training programs for working engineers like ‘Maintenance management’,’Design of Experiments’ for quality and production personnel.He is very active and contributes regularly in the activities of Product design development, Material selection and management to various industries.
