Learning can happen in any environment as long as the student focuses on learning. The student’s single-minded attention should be on learning, nothing else. It does not mean that there is more learning outside the classroom and thus staying away from the classes is the best option. Don’t underestimate the power of curriculum which has been designed by the university to equip the learner with all the required theoretical foundations. If the student does not know the theory, he has to learn it the hard way and ‘reinvent the wheel’, which is very expensive. It is needless to say that all the learning points are incorporated in the theory. All that the teacher, student and other trainers have to do is just figure out where exactly this theory can be put to best use. Guru Nanak Institutions believes in the learning rigor. Casual approach to learning leads nowhere, although a pass certificate might land in a student’s hands with such an approach. To be a successful learner of skills, knowledge and abilities of business management, we prescribe the student’s full participation in: (1) case studies, (2) project work, (3) assignments, (4) guest lectures, (5) special tests, (6) industry visits, (7) soft skills, (8) language skills, (9) classroom presentations, and (10) presentations in other colleges. All these are possible with student’s regular attendance only. Prof. Dr. Appalayya Meesala |
